Certainly Open class is now setting the score to beat! And the closeness in the competition is brilliant.
Keep up the good work.
As for Cameron, you certainly can't slacken off as Julie is ready to pounce! Good shooting to both of you, well done.
Thanks Mike. It was a great shoot. Reminded me a little of Mackay with the strong competition.
Dave shot brilliantly for the win and Rod was very close. Well done to all competitors.
Mike,, I may be teaching Julie loading and cleaning techniques so I can spend more time with my gear, 4+ rifles is a lot of work

Just got home and had a great time.

to all the winners.
I think Daves Grand agg score actualy overshadows his Queens win, only got one 58 in 5 days, the rest 59s and 60s.
The conditions this year were a bit more difficult than last year, but myself and a few other shooters think we shot our at our best ever this time. The skill level is certainly improving across the top end of the field in both F class disciplines. The numbers in F Open are on the rise as well, and going by the many questions we have been getting asked, interest is set to increase further.

Congratulations to the winners. I have arrived home as well.
I love competing at the Nationals. The guys are always so friendly. Competition always strong. My fellow West Aussies that I dragged along had an absolute ball, they will be returning next year with me.

Thankyou everyone for your kind comments, texts and emails. It was a bit of an unexpected result. Rod was certainly on my hammer the whole way and it felt like running a marathon and everytime you looked around there was rod grinning over your shoulder just cruising and waiting for a time to pounce. Only a couple of super v's separating us coming to last 1000. I just got the luckier run in the end. A lot of other great shooting in the mix as well. Alan - I actually had two rifles working well. One running on the 180 vld and one on the hybrid. A big thanks to mark Fairbairn and Peter smith who diagnosed a bedding problem on last day of mackay queens in the BAT. It really has been humming since. Cheers.

I still can't believe it.

Mate you'll have to post pics of rifles that shoot that well.
Congratulations.

That's a worthwhile thought.
For the first time in I don't know how long, none of the rifles looked like they came out of a knacker's yard or off the front of a 4WD. Good looking gear, all, form & function in one single package.

One was a good looking Ken Mclachlan alloy stock of my own front end design, the other was a good looking Mastin coloured laminated stock.
Some have likened me having a good looking rifle as similar to putting lipstick on a pig.

Hmmm, you're going "a little bit fancy" on us Rod. What happened to the ugly gun strategy where you get the opposition laughing so much they can't shoot straight?
