Hi l have a charge Master as well and it can give me a little over and under at times but in general I'm happy with it.But I'm wondering why a straw or rolled up paper can help.What dose this do to help the process.Out of interest went to McDonald's and have at huge expense (pinched) obtained a straw.Now off to try it.

Hi Michael, the straw works. It seems to smooth out the flow of those last few grains of powder. You might have to play a bit with the length .

Works for me ! Loaded 50 match rounds last night and had 2 go over by .1 gn.
Took me a bit over an hour or so to do . 👍

Thanks Danny and plumbs7 I'm just about to load 50 as well for Granville. so we will see howe the Maccas straw goes.I find that most of the time it might give you 2 or 3 bad ones in a row and then no probs for a good run.And most of the time it's only .1 or .2 over or under.

I figure I must have been gifted at birth. I find the opposable thumb means I can hold a powder dipper AND tap it, getting just the right amount of powder every time. This means I don't need to spend $400+ to NOT get the right amount of powder every time.

Sorry guys, I just don't get gadgets, especially the expensive ones that don't do the job as well as I can without them.

Well Bugger me Thanks guys it worked a treat.Loaded 50 and only had 2 go over .All done and dusted in under one Hour.Tim L if you are interested in selling your thumbs I might be in the market .If the power goes out I'm Buggered using the Charge Master.

Wish I could be at Grantville this weekend. Go for it Michael. Those dasher rounds I shot there the other week were loaded straight from the chargemaster.

I heard about that shoot Danny Very impressive don't think the charge master had a lot to do with that. I will take the Dasher but if the weather cuts up l might take the FTR Barrel and give that a run with the 185 gr Juganoughts for a bit of fun.

Just been weighing powder which prompted me about something that does not seem to have been mentioned.

The performance of many of the cheaper battery powered electronic scales is very sensitive to battery voltage. A new set of batteries seems to eliminate the worst erratic drift.

I am throwing into cheap electronic scales, then finishing with a Lab balance and this is quite visible.

I believe the main difference is the FZ model has an internal and external calibration functions, whereas the FX model has only an external calibration function:

The used unit't they're selling seem to have a large price range?

I thought the FZ models were water/splash resistant.

Not necessarily, they normally use the suffix 'WP' to indicate a 'water proof' (more like IP65) variation of a model. Doesn't half bump the price of a scale or balance model up!
