Hi Seddo , just been reading the old threads about ur rifle . Wow! I'm surprised at some of the opposition against ur weapon of choice ! Don't listen to the others , great rifle . Just as long as it's in the rules , safe and ur having fun . If it's hitting the six ring , who cares ! G Sells Dalby RC .

Yeah mate still shooting it, I have a 30" 12 twist 308 barrel for it now so I have started playing with f class as well. I shot it at the rosedale opm in F/TR but didn't have time to sort out a load so i used my 155gr run in load which had a couple of flyers at 900y and completely ran out of puff at 1000y.

It's fun shooting the little 16" barrelled one as well, with 178gr slugs I am limited to about 700y due to the velocity.

Yes mate a sucker for Jesus ! But I try and keep it under wraps ! Not perfect at all ! Bruce I respect what ur saying . But I think these type of rifles are for fun and do bring in the newcomers . And we have to be nice and welcome them . No doubt later on they will get a dedicated rifle for the job .
For me out in the bush and owning a farm with feral pest . My rifles do double duty ! So I do have a reason why!

I've been looking round for the best combination of a practical F class stock and price and stumbled across a bullpup stock style or two. After fleeting consideration I've just about dropped that idea for 4 reasons:-

1. The prices are really not that good.
2. The distance between front rest and rear bag is reduced, this on experimentation seems to reduce stability of alignment, and change relative heights.
3. For prone shooting I can keep elbow down constantly with the standard bolt location, I'm sure the elbow would need to be raised for a rear positioned bolt breaking my positioning.
4. Increased complexity on trigger to bolt release, potential to increase lock time.

On the plus side as already given in this thread, they do fit rifle cases more readily.

Wow, no wonder shooting in this country is up to crap...

All manner of rifle was on the mound at the worlds from mag fed to single feed, tactical to target, there were AICS systems, Sako TRG and tactical Remington's, and plenty of vanilla Fclass rifles.

In 2012 there was even a couple of Aussies using some kind of belt fed system, I think Rod Davies would give a better description of it than me, I was just the trigger puller, he was in charge of ammo.

In all seriousness though, have a look at some of the designs coming out of reputable Fclass manufactures, even Barnards stock platform is a bit scary looking...

Let's be more accepting of shooter and slightly less PC when honestly in this case it does not matter as much as some are making out.

I think there is a certain FTR shooter always at the top using a mag fed platform made in his own factory , I don't here anyone complaining to him on the mound.

The Barnard 10ss is rather military looking, (try a different paint job !)however this is NOT in my opinion a negative or a positive, rather just a reflection of modern (better?) design. It does have two obvious advantages.

1. The bolt is removable without having to remove other components as per tube guns and bullpups.
2. The front to rear rest separation is greater.

Good luck shooting a 10ss on the range, it's a cheytac! You must have thinking about the 07 as it's a 308.

I'm not sure how easy it is to swap barrels on the Barnard but the DTA takes about 60 seconds to swap the barrel, bolt and mag. After that it's just a scope adjustment and fire away.
