Ultrasonic Cleaning of Barrels

As my ultrasonic cleaner makes such an awesome job of cleaning brass I was wondering if (before I go to the time, effort and expense of building one) anyone has any experience cleaning barrels ultrasonically? This can be as a one off or as a regular say once every hundred rounds exercise. If so what were your results, how did the barrels cope, did they not clean or even get too clean, and what cleaning solution did you use?
Cheers,
James.

I had thoughts of trying an Ultrasonic Antifouling for Boats kit from Jaycar.
Looks like you could mount the transducer in a piece of PVC pipe.
Anyone have any thoughts on whether it would work?

You could certainly build a tank and attach this to it to create an ultrasonic cleaner. I have seen professional cleaners that just have a couple of large transistors mounted to the tank, these transistors are then switched to the frequency desired. It is just their mechanical movements that operate the unit not their electrical output at all.
