Has anyone had any success with the new 140grain Nosler 6.5 RDF projectiles . If so what do they like to be seated.

Ive heard rdf stands for random darn flier. But have also heard they aren’t bad from others. Only one way to test. Start 5 thou off and work back 5 thou at a time.

Plus 1 on the random darn flyers. Wish I could advise on a seating depth but I couldn't find one.

From all reports that I've read - most of them US based, the RDFs like to be jumped, in some cases quite a bit - anywhere from 40 thou out to 90. I did see a guy running the 140's over in Perth out of a 6.5x47 Lapua - from memory he was jumping them around 50 thou with reasonable results.

Had the same problem, would run the Scenar 6.5 139 grainers before RDF's?

I have found that in my 260 they like zero jump or 110thousands Nothing in between was fantastic. I shoot prs so I can’t jamb them as it is not unusual to have to unload. I chambered my 260 with a short throat to run well with mags so at 110 thousand they were set to far back in the case for my liking.
I shoot prs so absolute tiny group accuracy is not as important as fclass. For my purposes the availability and affordability allows for more practice.
Whatever the seating depth I very much doubt they will set your world on fire with accuracy........

I’m about to start load development using the 140 RDF and 2209. Was going to start at mag length for PRS.
I’ll post the results from 24” barrel; Lap SP brass; and BR4 primers.
Hope to get to the range within a few weeks.

Ok finally got the RDFs loaded up: preliminary results look good.
About half-MOA at 300metres.
Lapua SP brass; 42.5gn 2209, 30thou off; BR4 primers and a little bit of breeze. Around 2675fps. Might try a hotter load...
The Tikka CTR shoots well!

I have just loaded up 130gn RDFs for 260Rem. 42.5gn 2209, 26” 1:8 with Fed Match Gold LR primers. The case necks were prett trigger though, hoping that doesn’t impact too dramatically. I’ll report results from 300M after this Saturday.
