I see Stuey Braund has dropped 7 in the first 5 ranges of the leadup (that's 7 Xs ). He hasn't been able to decide between 60.8 or 60.9.

stuey has been referred to as both a cunning old dog and a wiley old fox.

Wow, one point down for 2 days, with a massive amount of Xs at the tricky Lower Light range. What a performance.

There’s some good scores being shot at this Queen’s.

today I had the honour to watch one of the best ranges I have seen in my life, by braund the younger.
in conditions not really difficult, but hard enough to get lots of 5s and an occasional 4, stuart displayed the combination of character, experience, tactics,and windreading and shooting to take the range with a 60.6.
2 of 4s for sighters did not set him up well, but he stopped and thought for some time before beginning, not giving up.
should machine gunning ever become the norm to win, great feats of sportsmanship like this will be replaced with a lotto draw.

Just me or are the results on the NRAA confusing? Do TR and F Class shoot together?

TR starts the Queens at 300m while F class has a late start and joins the Queens at the 500y range, with a 15 shot match.

there has been a problem with the nraa website I believe.

ALL good shoots are to be admired however they are legally achieved and I am sure we all do, I know I do. Sometimes slow is required, sometimes fast is the answer!! These are skills any aspiring competitor should aspire to, the trick is to know when to apply which skill at the correct time! Shooting fast when the condition requires it is a skill that has to be learned, it does not come naturally and still requires wind reading ability. I remember Andrew Powell who in the day was a very fast TR shooter, he trained himself to shoot fast and it took many weeks of training on Anzac Malabar for him to achieve that skill, which he used to advantage when the conditions required it. I wonder if those who consider shooting fast as something bad just don't have that skill?? If so I suggest that they train themselves to add another skill to their "tool box".

you make a good point.
however fast for a tr shooter is not machine gunning - it physically cannot be.
my early days of fclass shooting were all about shooting fast and chasing shots, and I became quite skilled at it.
I even won 3 queens doing it.
problem was that while I was developing that skill, others were doing the hard yard and learning to read the wind, and now they can beat me.
and it is too late to ever catch up to them now. I am old.

Big congrats to all the winners. Very close in all grades this year. Was a real pleasure being involved. Great weather and saw some great shooting. Thanks to the Victorian ftr boys for taking a lot of lip!

Well done to our F Class winners

Just had a look at the SARA website, and can only find the TR winner (well done Rhyder on another win!). Did they forget to upload the other winners???

After all, when looking at the numbers of competitors in each discipline they were within one or two of each other. It may be just a timing thing....
