Barnard Ejector

I’ve just bought a Barnard P rifle second hand. I didn’t realise that it was fitted with an ejector. Ejectors are one of my pet hates.
How would I go about deactivating the ejector?

Can you just remove the spring??
My spring became gunked up and jammed making my bolt a non eject for a while

The ejector is held in by a roll pin 2mm diameter by about 7.8mm long.
You need to punch that out with a suitable punch.
I don't know how strong the ejector spring is, pretty weak I would imagine given the size of it, but take care and wear safety glasses.
My ejector, spring and roll pin live unused in a plastic bag, the correct place for them

Yes ok thanks, I get that, removing the spring is obvious, but then if you just put the roll pin back in does the ejector wobble about without a preload on it, and will it still sit flush with the face of the bolt?
I would have thought epoxying it in might be the way to go.

Just remove the whole lot. No need to refit ejector minus the spring. The small open hole is not an issue.
