Hi All
Any one got any thing to say about the Pro Stocks or can
recommend another stock supplier peferable in S.A.
I'm looking for a cheap blank suited for a Rem 700 SA varmint style.
Happy to do the inletting and finishing myself.

Regards

John C from MBRC got one blank recently for one of his rifles. Looks pretty good however there is a fair bit of inletting to do.

Hey John,

My rifle was built by Pro-Cal. I opted for a Kelbly fibreglass stock but it is my understanding that Pro-cal's timber stocks are a copy of this (more or less). My Kelbly is essentially a 'benchrest stock' and it recoils beautifly in the bags. I am completely bemused as to why more people aren't using these types of stocks. I guess traditional thinking is still guiding peoples choices for 'old style' stocks with thumb-holes, adjustable cheek rests, etc. IMHO, the less contact you have with the stock upon recoil, the better for shot placement consistancy (all other things being equal).

So I guess what I am trying to say is, Yes, I would highly recommend this type of design. It is the way of the future in F-Class.

Good luck with your rifle.

Regards
Ben
