I've been told the garage is for cars! How was I supposed to know.
So the loading room needs to be in the shed. It's a bit drafty out there and stifling hot up here in QLD so its got to be a shed in the shed.

Shed in a shed could double as a cyclone shelter!
Remember to leave enough room between the studs to fit a box ac unit.

hi mate i built my room on back off shed to but i used 100mm thick cool room steel paneling walls and calling. with 100mm thick door made out off same 3 pin slide lock just like a volt, and has been passed as one big gun safe. temperature stays very much the same all year round 18 to 25 degrees.

I looked at cool rooms, just to park in the shed, but all rather expensive.
A/C is all planned in. I'm going to duct it directly into the room to cool it down, then direct it into the roof void and wall cavity to keep things cool but with no drafts.
At least that's how I hope its going to work

Well with a lot of help from my wonderful wife, and a bit of muscle from the son, it's painted, has a roof and electrics are in place.
Just need to fill it with powder and bullets now

I ended up using a 20' container. Lined it with cool room panels and fitted a split aircon. It gets very hot and humid in Darwin.

I would have gone with a container but didn't have anywhere to put it.
Looks like a great set up though.
Does NT accept the container as safe storage for firearms?

You must do a lot of reloading!

There's another 550 and Simplex Master on the floor. Also have installed a Forster Co-Ax since the pic. Yes I was doing a lot of reloading but not as much these days. When the culling gets going again I'll step up.
The container is registered as a safe. Can leave guns out but have to lock up the C & H Class ones. Had to do a few mods to get this approved.

It's good to see other set ups.
I've changed mine a bit because my wife and daughter also shoot. I used to have all the business going on at 1 end. This time round the scales are at one end, mounted independently of the bench and the press is at the other on its own frame so 2 people can do their thing without effecting each other.
The insulation inside the shed also means zero phone reception.

Pleased to find my A/C idea works.
Position 1, cool the room down

Position 2, divert A/C to roof and wall cavity to keep the room cool, with no draft.


A nice even 24 degrees which isn't bad becacase the shed hits 40 by 10am
