Our Club leaves our Hexta Targets outside in the Butts in their frames all the time. We have tried various methods to cover and protect them from the weather but have yet to come up with a simple, effective and easy-to-use solution.
There seems to be a very large number of Clubs which now have Hexta Targets,
We'd very much appreciate any information, ideas, pictures etc., of ways in which Clubs use to cover their targets if they leave them out in the weather. Hopefully someone has an ingenious, easy-to-use and light method.

Good question Bob. Ted Boreham, who manufactures the Hexta target structures and faces, says the main focus of weather protection should be stopping water getting through the target "roof" and thinks that something light and non-metallic that remains on the target would work. Of course high shots would damage it but if made of a suitable material it could be regularly inspected and patched. If you don't have vandalism concerns this could be a cheap and easy solution compared with large enclosure structures. It has the added advantage that the weather protection is still there when shooting, so no need to rush to cover them when heavy rain interrupts an event.

My inital thoughts would be a gabled roof in medium thickness marine ply attached directly to the top of the target at a height which does not interfere with lifting pulleys etc. when the target is lowered for changing the face (in our case we'd be lowering them when not in use). Also it would need to be removable when targets are taken down for maintenance.
