Hi all,

In case you missed it:

The VRA Council has approved the use of any lead core, non-monolithic, projectiles up to 156grain for F STD and TR for any VRA approved competition as of 17th January 2022 up until 31st December 2022.

This will also apply for the 2022 VRA Queens event.

Hopefully this helps some shooters get back on the mound with some alternative projectiles.

Well done VRA.

I think we all need to keep shooting. So if some flexible rules are put in for the time being that will keep us out there enjoying our sport then I'm in favour of that!

Hornady make a 155 ELDM, but it's any bullet under 156 grains so you could use 150 Sierra Match Kings for example or the Australian made Copperhead 155 which wasn't on the approved list.

I think the Hornady might be popular (if you can buy them). A lot of the PRS/PSR blokes seem to like them.

Opens up the field to some oddball lighter projectiles even.

The NRAA has stepped in to "help"....

Yeh, it'd interesting to see where nraa sourced them from as we can't get any from the q store, which is literally 10m away from the nraa office.

I for one am pleased that they have been able to rustle them up. There's a world wide shortage, so hats off to the associations that stepped in to help to maintain the integrity of our Queens events!

To be fair its not the same as an individual hoarding.

My concern is that there seems to be a resistance to moving beyond the revenue model that relies on controlling the projectiles that TR and F-Std use. The VRA concession was a move in that direction, but by the swiftness of the response seems to have rung alarm bells at the NRAA .

Sounds more like our politicians and the NRAA was scared we may see some of the glimering light of projectile freedom and they may loose their control of something.

Post deleted as it sounded a lot funnier in my head.

To be fair to everyone, the VRA only received a small amount of various projectiles and some of the promised ones never turned up so what was received and distributed to VRA members will only last a very short time. Probably only a couple of months until another larger shipment hits the NRAA. Not Bergers though.
