Hi all,
Bought myself a RCBS Flash hole deburring tool to uniform th inside of the flash hole in .308 brass. There is instructions on the wrapper but are fairly sketchy.
I'm assuming that you deprime / size the fired case first. Then trim so all are same length.
At what length do you set the (self locating) pilot stop?
How much is required to be removed, does this determine the pilot stop setting?
This one comes with a handle, But do you leave that off and chuck it in a cordless drill?

I plan to use this with Lapua brass.

U have the right idea although with Lapua brass, the flash holes are drilled rather than punched so there usually isnt any burrs.

The way I set mine up is to size and trim to length, clean up the hole so u can see a bright ring around the flash hole. Tighten up the neck mandrel whilst holding the tool firmly in the cleaned up case. Then u will do them all the same depth. I find it requires only about 2-3 turns max so using the drill may be overkill.
