Hi all! Can anyone tell me what screws should be used for scope mounting on the Omark action? I have been told that they are 6-48 gauge. So i brought some from Peter at Procal but these screws are way too small! M4x0.7 metric ones are close but also too small. So i dont know what they are! Can some one tell me what thread the original Omark tapping is? Or better still help me out with the correct screws?? :? :? :?

I fitted a scope rail to my Omark and found that a 6-32 UNC worked OK with a drop of blue loctite in the existing rear hole. I drilled and tapped 6-48 for the front holes for use with a B-Square scope base. Yours may be drilled and tapped something different so you will have to experiment to see what fits.
Cheers,
Richard

gday adds, you may well find that the holes are tapped for the 8x47 screws as an old parker hale i had was tapped for these, plenty of gunshops will have a few of these lying around, if you take the rifle with you they could find the right screws for you.

Hi ADDS Most of the threaded rear holes in Omark actions are 5/32 whitworth although I have heard some of the late actions had a different size. 5/32 B.S.W. screws of decent quality with allen heads are not easy to find so tap that hole out to 8-40,the rest can be drilled and tapped to 6-48.Hope this helps Regards Malcolm
