Does anyone have a flyer for any of the 3 meetings? Need it for the Events page - otherwise some details about ranges, no of shots, classes, targets, cost, start times would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Werribee is running F-Class Open. I understand Bacchus Marsh have voted not to include us. One day I hope they have a change of heart, but in the meantime, let's support a club that supports us by turning up in decent numbers on Sunday at Werribee.
See you there.

Just to keep the record straight, Bacchus Marsh always did include FO but droped it because of lack of support from FO shooters.

And to keep the record even straighter, they declined the offer of a guaranteed 6 shooters if they participated (at no cost other than providing open targets) as a leg of the 2007-8 Pro-Cal Series. And the offer is still there for future years - hopefully we'll get a good turnout at Werribee to demonstrate we're here to stay!

No

No guarantee about the Syme shoot either. So let's not get the record bent Barry.... BTW with the Vic Series shoots, we actually pay the shortfall in entry fees if less than 6 enter.
Back to the main point of the thread, it will be great if we get a good turnout of Open shooters in Werribee, and it will be great if the Bacchus Marsh organisers have us back in future years.
That's all from me (unless more incorrect assertions are made).

My apologies, there was no Guarantee of 6 at Glenrowan but the inference was that there would be 9+, which is why FO were catered for.
No Guarantee at the Syme either but 4 is rather miserable considering it was a Syme/ Queens shoot, even though it was a " quality field."

I have to really do my homework to get an apology out of you Barry

!
Actually, at Glenrowan, a couple of F-Open shooters put in donations worth 4 or 5 entries on the Sunday, just because of the poor turnout, but to my knowledge no guarantee had been given.
And numbers would have been respectable had not two couples who were very keen to attend been struck down by serious illnesses to the respective wives. Fortunately they are all back shooting, and I hope they'll all be there on Sunday.

well ime buggered if i know why there is such a set on fo, even at my own club last week there was a meeting and some of the members wanted to can the FO event even tho there was going to be 8 or 10 shooters comming ,four of them are locals ,the word was that the targets are to costleyand its only for people with lotss of money, bull ### to that, even tho they are bloody sitting there and the target centres are not changed at the longs,I was not there but i will be looking in to this i can tell you ,and as far as wang opm goes because of the whinging and bitching that went on two shooters that i know of paid a double entry fee to try and shut them up ,excuse the french but piss week, agreat effort by all in an effort to make OUR sport grow i dont think, the people that whing about open should put that valuable energy and time maybe into trying tojoin up some new members., and dont forget how many c graders there are turning up at opms and queens but nothing said yet about pulling that up,at one opm the open shooters paid there money just to have a shot and didnt care or want trophies and shot on full bore targets, far go you knockers.

Paul,
There seems to be differences in attitude towards F-Open around the state. In Gippsland, the 3 prizemeetings have all been running F-Open for about 5 years. Our numbers have been steadily increasing and at Rosedale a few weeks ago, only A-Grade equalled F-Open in numbers. The same thing could happen in your area if the clubs are willing to give it a chance. From my recent experience at Glenrowan I suspect that most of the shooters up your way are quite happy about including F-Open, but there is a handful of individuals in "important" positions who have a problem with it. Can I suggest that we agree to shoot on full-bore targets, using a small stick-on "7 ring" which we can provide. If the cost of targets really is the reason for wanting to exclude us, then this should solve the problem completely and absolutely!
Tom Lowndes, do you have any comment on this?
