Need some help Please
Got my New gun 284 custom built.
want to know some starting loads
using 30 inch Maddco barrel 1 to 8 twist
want to use 2209 powder with CCi or Federal primers
using 184 Berger's Hybrid Target Bullets. BC is .695
Need some starting loads and some info on Jump .

I've only used a 9 Twist with 184's in a SAUM so can't help you,... plus I use 2213sc. good luck

I'd start at 50gr of 2209 and work up slowly. I know one guy who just got a 284 up and running and he's nudging over 51gr to be up around the 2800fps mark.

I would take care with using 50gn's of 2209 with the 184's My 284W liked 50gn's but with 180 VLD's running at 2800fps. If you want the primer pockets to last, start lot lower.
