Component shortage

Hi All,
This has probably been done to death… anyway
I have been thinking about building a 6.5 of some sort and have noticed there’s not much around in the way of projectiles.
Is there an end in sight to the supply problem?

With the Ukrainian war still going and instability in the world, I assume the shortage is an ongoing issue for 2023/2024.

2 options (if our dysfunctional NRAA board can look beyond TR and their mates), with the NRAA’s approval, is:

1. Swage your own projectiles, if you can source the J4 jackets from Berger. Perrit Engineering is already making dies and presses for the bench rest community, or
2. Monolithic. However, some ranges may have an issue with solid copper projectiles.

How about ordering through Reloading International?

Unfortunately jackets disappear the same way as the bullets do except just delayed by 6-12 months.

At least with sporter hunter you can be a bit more flexible about projectiles ..... They do not have to have the ultimate BC

Plus one on using Reloading International; final cost of projectiles may be high, but what are the projectiles really worth to you? I took a pessimistic view about future supply, and after failing to secure my desired projectiles in good numbers from the waiting lists of the three or four big boys in the US, I made the plunge with RI, and am now happily stocked up for foreseeable future. Of course I now occasionally have to beat my team mates off with a stick.

Maybe more people should consider shooting FTR as there a huge range of excellent projectiles to choose from =D>
