Hi All,

This is a quick plug for Daryl at Meplat Firearm Services. http://www.meplat.com.au/

I've now done 2 imports with them and found their service to be cost efficient and hassle free.

Essentially all you need to do is buy the product and send it through to Daryl's US based FFL ie you buy the product in the USA and your delivery address is a USA FFL (Federal Firearms Licence aka Dealer).

Shipments are consolidated (to save freight) so depending on your timing 2-4 months later you will get a notification that your item(s), have arrived, and cleared customs along with an itemised invoice. You pay the invoice and the items are sent to your dealer.

The ballpark extra cost is + 33% of the USD price.

The bulk of that cost is 10% export fee, 10% ABF import tax = 22%.

Daryl's hassle solving service fee is ~ 10%., thus the 33%.

Here is the breakdown for a $1329 USD pistol ($1988 AUD) ex USA.

My delivered to the door cost was ~ $2893 AUD (1932 USD).

Moving past the fact I could not source this pistol in Australia - ie no stock, no delivery time, no interest in doing the deal, the Winchester price was $3695. The Cleaver no stock price was $3490 - https://www.cleaverfirearms.com/Product ... s&Brand=68

If you just acquiring it from your dealer does that mean they handle the export AND import paperwork?

Whe I've done it in the past I've had a US export broker and then had to do the import paperwork myself to get it through customs in Australia as well as the usual PTA.

Daryl handles all of: the export paperwork, the international shipping, the import paperwork (B709) and customs clearance, and finally the local shipping to your dealer for pickup.

I can absolutely endorse Daryl and Meplat Firearms.
Over the last few years, Daryl has imported all of my 50 BMG match grade projectiles from the U.S.
He does everything.
