Mate, welceom,
I suggest going to a local range and having a go. See what happens and just go from there. Talk to the guys and girls at the range, I am sure they will help.

Hi and welcome
when I first wanted to shoot at a range I did not even own a target rifle, I had plenty of hunting rifles, so I went along to the closest club tried it out using their club rifle liked it and then after a lot of advise from club members I purchased a rifle and went from there 99% of the advice was good.
I have now been shooting F Class for over 12 months and I love it, as you are really shooting against your last shoot, and it is a great challange, reading the wind and mirrage
I shoot a Mossberg 308 with a BSA Contender 6-24 * 40 Scope, and reload all my own ammunition

Hi Jimbo.
Welcome to F-Class Shooting!!
Dont worry about the non replies that is pretty typical of this forum.
As for your gear, I have a rifle 223 Omark, Bi-Pod & Scope, a mat & a spotting scope. So i'd say you are pretty set!!
You dont say where you are from!! I am in Northern Victoria So come & say hi one day, as I am pretty new as well (Been shooting targets since January 2008) & I really enjoy it.
Cheers & Good Shooting
Rhonda.

jimbo, i started shooting f standard just over twelve months ago with an old omark 308 . i screwed a piece of timber under it to give me a flat surface to sit on a stand. i got plenty of advice from my club members and had a complete ball. i have advanced to s 223 savage and still having a ball. mate, just follow the advice already given, go to your club, ask questions and just enjoy yourself.. good luck.
