The only pic I have of my old rifle.
I made the stock myself (looks like it some will say) out of some Tassie Oak from Bunnings. Strange shape for a TR stock but it fits me well.

I Ain't never fired a 7.62 if that is where your comments originate.

Sure the recoil must be less but the fact of the matter is...if you point it straight????????

The recoil of MY MAN'S GUN is further reduced by the weight of it being so close to maximum allowable, a trade off maybe...for girls (no offence meant) without brawn.

Seriously though, cheers for the comment...rumour has it though that you have had the odd shot with a MAN'S GUN..

I have shot a few rounds through a 223 yes. They seem to run nicely, and the lack of recoil is a nice change. Our club rifle is probably not a good example of the type (being a rather poor example of an Omark, but has a good barrel), but using the right bullets, it really shines. Yesterday, my wife - a shooter of 7 months, shot a 59 at 900y in quite gusty conditions, with the 223 in FS.

I was started on a 308, so dont know any different I suppose. I will speak to you about a project we have in mind at Woody Engineering, and making a lightweight 223 rifle for TR use - being for smaller people, and juniors so they can start in TR if they choose to. At the moment, almost everyone starts in FS with the 223, which works great, because people can get good scores right away.

Yeah not a bad shoot...only the 2nd to do it in TR that we know of...the other was shot with a 5.56 by someone I know well.

Littlebang, you and Mick seems to do very well. I saw his scores. Man can he shoot with his little Barnard!!!! Good going mate!!!

Had a nightmare of a Queens....A case of, If it could go wrong it did.

New rifle had some issues and still need to fine tune accuracy.
Started with old rifle that had nearly 5000 round through it...not ideal. Groups where extremely hollow.
Changed to new rifle and shot awesome for 3 ranges 400, 800, 500 then ran out of ammo for it and used other rifles ammo after leaning on bolt to get it to shut @ 900...not a good sight.
Pulled both bolts apart and made one out of them that was a little better.
The bullets that the bolt closed nicely on were great and nearly all V's but the others had another group of their own...easy to control such @ 600 but a nightmare @1000.
I nearly gave up a few times but was determined to learn as much as I could about the new rifle and loads.
So with a little head space adjustment and/or some shoulder bumping I should be able to get the new one flying.
At least I was very thirsty and had a good time.

Well the annex moved at the last moment and I just hit the guy ropes but none the less, Yes I was Crissed as a Picket.

I was there......and many will remember.....many will remind me wont they RP........So I hear that clean jocks are better than crusty ones RP.

Rifle in picture is no longer mine and I should get my act together and post a pic of my new one.
Stay tuned...nothing special though... still an omark but in a piece of walnut Jerricho instead of Tassy Oak.
