Hello :D fclass shooters,on sunday our range had a 600 yard practice shoot.i used my savage fvss 308 with the 26 inch barrel with the 1 in 10 twist.all last year i was trying different loads for the 155 hpbt projectiles, some good some bad.well i think i have crack two loads at last, here is the details.
here is the first load. ar 2208 : 46.1 grains.
case : rem.
primer: cci large.
projectile: nosler 155 hpbt or sierra.
o.a.l: 73mm.
the above load gave me this score in the first round with noslers :5,5,6,6,5,6,4,5,6,6 i know i pulled right and high when i got that 4, total 54 out of 60 total.the second round i used sierra, 6,5,6,5,5,6,5,6,6,5,5, total 60 out of 66 total all with 46.1 of ar 2208.wind was left to right and sometimes in your face(a bit tricky, but nothing new to our range. i had 10 spare cases filled with 46.5 of ar 2208 with the same details as above and tried these ,they all looked like they all grouped in the five ring at 10 o"clock :o .and happy.i had a great day and got first on the day with my total score of 114 out of 126.
i hope this is not too long read.

Good shooting Barry! Looks like your load for the Noslers and Sierras is working well. Now if you try the Ozzy made BJDs I reckon it will be straight 6s :D

Hello :D IanP,do the aussie ones have the same or more lenght than the noslers, i know the sierra's are shorter than noslers.my throat in my savage is long, about 74.5mm aprox. it will be about two weeks before i can try the 46.5 load again at a long distance.i will let the forum know how i went with this load then. thanks for your reply, from barry t 8)
