Thanks Alan. l was wondering if it might be as good as the 47 just giving you the ability to push the 140....142 gr harder. But if it had the ability to do this and was as good as far as Accuracy goes then it would be a lot more popular I would think.

It has been a popular cartridge up here - or an improved version ("6.5*55 rogue"). Over the last 5 years two people in particular have been almost impossible to beat with them in prize meetings (mainly shot at 300-700) and a few queens have been won! Dave Stewart took his all the way to the world championships in Raton and it was holding together quite well at the 1000 yard line.

It is a very nice cartridge, great brass and a good all rounder. So is the 47

In the past I have used powders like 2213sc,reloader 22,25.with moderate success.late last year I stumbled on cameron Mc's
topic on the 6.5x55 using 44.5grn of 2209.made up loads from 44.0grn to 45.0grn and found 44.2grn shot a few onehole
5 shot groups at 100m.Learned a lesson that speed was not needed to go all the way to a 1000m .Quickload predicted 2779fps.
that was plenty to get to our 1000m Range. 2209 - 44.2grnx140grn JLK projectile x norma cases out of a 5R 30" true flite barrel.
Cheers Harry
