Hi.

I seem to be shooting a little better with Rem brass in my .223 rather than Lapua .

Loaded Lapua is around 0.246 and Rem 0.243. Is rem brass typicial around this and would i use a 0.241 bush for the rem brass.

I bought a 0.247 when i got my Lapua as i was sure it measured 0.249 so i'm sure i don't have enough tension with Lapua and the result larger groups with fliers when using Lapua.

Might need 0.245 with Lapua and .241 with rem

Hi Chris
The Remington and Lapua brass do require different bush sizes to achieve the same neck tension. I use 249, 250 or 251 for the Lapua brass depending on how many times it has been fired. The Remington is usually 243 or 244 for the same result. Have found that an inside neck diameter of .2225 before loading seems to give the most consistent results. Hope this helps.

I don't know how i came up with needing a .247 with my Lapua cases but everything did measure .249 loaded so i went .247.

I'm getting much better results with Rem cases so i'll measure again and get a new bush. The one's i checked last night went .242 - 3 so i'll get a .241. Does neck tension have a effect on accuracy

Neck tension can effect group sizes but it is more important to have even neck tensions. The 222-223 inside measurement just seems to work best in most rifles I know of.
