Any one going? Spoke to Dennis Smith last night and there will be F Open to be shot on Super V with possible being 60.10. I gather if there is a poor attendance then F open will not be offered in future.

See you there.

I'll be there and there should be a good turn up, I just hope it continues.

I will be there and dragging along a new shooter as well. I know of at least one other high scoring F std shooter who has built an FO rifle will be there. If anyone wants to shoot in F open but doesnt have a competitive rifle, I have one they can borrow.

Hi, a couple of guys from Nowra are going but they told me I had to be a member of the NRA to be able to shoot, is this right?

Graham,

I'm not sure if that is true, I'm sure if you show up with $30 and a current firearms license you can enter FO. Gosford contacts are Dennis Smith on 02 9114 6833 or Robert Smith 02 4363 1898.

I am pretty sure you have to be a member of NRAA. If not, let me know, I will drag another shooter or two along.

From Robert Smith
"Yes you must be a member of NRAA, with a grading card to shoot".

I wonder if people can join up on the day? The new shooter who is coming with me just joined a club last week and will only be bringing a reciept to say he is a member.

Perhaps this should be considered from the perspective of insurance, a part of what we pay when we join the NRAA is for on the range insurance, no membership, no insurance.

Well, the Gosford OPM has been run and won and I can help with a bit of commentry on the F open side of things. The 15 shot 3rd range was called off due to wet weather. The rain realy settled in so it was no use waiting. Other wise the meeting went well, with around 10 or so F open shooters.
The fullbore target with super V was used. F Open was squaded with all other shooters
In the 1st 500M John Peters got his new 6.5x284 humming to shoot a possible 60.10 at his first prize shoot in F open. The conditions werent real bad at that stage, but certainly not still either, so he went well to get that. I believe a protest might be entered though, as he refused to provide a urine, semen and stool sample to the self appointed anti doping officials prior to leaving the mound. Next was Matt Paroz (6BR)with a 60.8, the Bob Eager(6 Dasher) with a 60.6.
In the next 500, Bob Eager counted out John Peters, both getting 60.6 with Steve Rigby with a 59.4 as the rain came in. Then the rain came and a break was called.
A few people started to shoot the 3rd range, but conditions were getting worse, so it was decided to cal it a day and get out of the increasing wind and rain.
For the 2 range agg, it was John Peters in front, with Bob Eager and Matt Paroz not far behind.
Hope to see even more in F open next time.
Any F std shooters with updates as to who did how with what?

The new shooter needs to be a NRAA member, as stated. This is certainly an insurance issue, but also includes all the other stuff that goes with being a member.

I would think you could join on the day, BUT, this would probably mean NRAA affiliation, state affiliation and a club membership.

Its a good reason to have them join our association!!!
