Just wondering if anyone shoots a Pac- Nor barrel in competition.
If so what do you think of them compared to other brands.

We have half a dozen working here in various calibers. We used to sell them, however they are still very good barrels.

They are button rifled, but we have seen no adverse affects after long or fast string shooting.

One test I often propose to people whom have some fetish about barrel brands, is to walk along the firing point at a shoot anywhere and choose barrel brands by the score people are shooting. This is impossible to do in practice. In effect, all barrels are essentially the same - most shoot well, some are exceptional, some are crap. Ive seen the top end and the bottom end in one brand.

Interesting Woody.

Why did you stop selling them?

We are transferring over to another business. We intend getting some more in the future. Its just the current circumstance that got in the way, nothing to do with the barrels.

Norm,

Now when I order a new barrel I insist on Pac-Nor, wont use anything else.

I shoot a couple of Pac-Nor's, currently have one chambered in 6x47 (8 twist) and wouldn't trade it for anything. Had a Schneider in the same caliber and action prior, no comparison.

I am very happy with the 223 pacnor barrel that Rod chambed and the prefit 284 is very good as you know.

You can believe what Ben says about his Pacnor barrel.
This weekend, 2 days of shooting, 5 targets, 55 shots (4x10shot matches, 1x 15) ALL in the 6 or X ring, SIGHTERS INCLUDED. Certainly made a difference using competitive equipment didnt it Ben?

Sure does Rod, not dropping a shoot all weekend is a great feeling.
