They are supposed to be a copy of the Sierra MatchKing, but they don't seem to be all that consistent.

I got some to try in my F/TR - I usually use 168gn SMK's, so I got some 168gn Nosler CC's. I weighed each projectile, and they were all over the shop. My SMK's are pretty consistent, Most are bang on 168gn, with a few up to 0.2 under and a few up to 0.2 over - makes it very easy to batch them up. In a box of 100 projectiles, I got around 60 that were 0.1-0.2gn under weight, about 10 that were exactly right - not a big deal, but I had a couple of projectiles that were up to 3gn too light... so you would need to be careful about batching your projectiles.

After all of that, I could not get them to shoot as well as the SMK's anyway, so I guess I am sticking with the Sierras, even though they are twice the price.

I did in a 22BRX with 69gr nosler CC's. Wasnt the best choice of projie for targets, but at 3360fps boy did they strike foxes down like the mighty hammer of thor. Groups were awesome around the 1/4MOA at 100m. I see no reason why they couldnt shoot right with some testing.

I have some 155gr CCs that I am going to use for F Class, but recently have been using the Association factory loads with the Nosler projectile.

They shoot a bit high, recently at 800m they were about 2 minutes higher in elevation than the Association factory Palma match with the HBC projectiles.

At 500m they shoot about 1/4 minute high.

I will be interested to see what my reloads do.

Load will be something like this

Nosler 155 CCs, Lapua Brass for 308, CCI BR2 primer and AH2208 powder

Just checking Chopper. Which Nosler CCs are you looking at?
I know the 162gn Nosler Custo Copetitions I use measure up and shoot very well. I dot know about the other calibers though.
As soon as the new 7mm 168s are released, I will pass on any info I find on how they work.

I shot some reloads that I prepared last week using the Nosler 155g CC projectiles, I am going to shoot a second lot this week and things are looking very promising, working up loads and sorting elevation

Since I have not been able to get any Lapua brass as yet, I am using the once-fired Winchester brass from the Association Palma loads, some 2000 cases that I have, and recently acquired 4kg of 2208, despite the lack of availability, combined with CCI 200 LR primers. This is what I do when there is nothing on television, all 16 channels of digital, having fun anyway

Dont underestimate those winchester cases. A bloke here just got his barnard/krieger 308 working. I helped him run it in and do some loads up for initial load development with them as he didnt have any lapua cases. The winchester cases were just decapped, clean out the soot in the primer pocket and re primed with fed gold medal primers, and reloaded.

Bugger me if he didnt shoot a 59.9 with it first up, only losing the one point by about 2-3mm.

Gave the 6mm Nosler projy a run this week along side Smk, the nosler batch I had measured great but lacked OD, the Smk was not as consistant but had a bigger OD, both were shot with the same powder and weight, both were shot in and out of the lands, 300yds, Nosler shot 3 inch or more in or out of the lands, Smk shot 1 inch groups in the lands, maybe a tighter barrel will shoot the Nosler ?, by the way the Nosler were about 70fps slower, pity they are not as fat as the Smk, they are about .2 of a tho smaller , I wonder why, ? I didnt clean the barrel after thirty rounds and the Nosler groups did reduce, I guess because of fowling taking up barrel space , :?: just makes sense to me, what a shame good projy, Chop.

My only experience with Nosler CCs was to blow some up in my 260 INCH, havnt touched them since.

I stopped using Lapua brass a fair while ago in 308 as they are too soft and cant hande the pressure of the loads I am using these days.

I have now blown up Nosler CCs in .223 AND 6.5mm. ALOT of them. But no problem with other brands, just NOSLER. I would not touch them again, they have lost my interest permanently. (The 308 CCs did not blow up, but there are better choices out there...)

While I get Winchester for free, I doubt I will use anything else.
