Rosedale - 2 days shooting

Hi All,

Just reminding you all that the Boys and Girls at Rosedale are putting on a 2 day shoot this year.

Tomorrow will see 2 x 500 yards sweepstakes

Sunday December 2nd is: 2 x 1000 yards

Christmas hams to the winners.

Sounds like a great weekend shooting. See you all there.

What were the results from the 2 day event??

Well it was an interesting afternoon, with about 6 minutes right wind, that would suddently drop to 3 minutes right :-)

Speaking for myself, I didn't believe it was that much the first time, so placed a nice 3 oclock 4 for my first business of the day DOH!!!

Alan used a MCSI system which counted center bulls into the equation. A quick look at the scores at the end of the day showed that it was a very even system for mixing scores from all 3 disciplines! As the ladder started as follows:

Number 1: Norm.N in FO
Number 2: Carol.H in TR
Number 3: Ross.J in TR
Number 4: Mike.W in FS

Hopefully Alan will be able to flesh out the results more. Suffice to say, it was an enjoyable shoot.

I spoke with one A Grade shooter who competed on Sunday at 1000 yards, true to form Rosedale put on the conditions to test all that took her on! Correct me if I'm wrong Alan, however I believe a C Grader won the day with 88, with a B Grader next then an A Grader after that :oops:

It can only happen at Rosedale..............

Importantly the rain held off, and we all had an enjoyable time.

Thanks Mike. Here are the results for both days taken from the electronic scoreboard used in the club room. Yes the sunday conditions were challenging - the wind strength was only moderate, but changing in strength and direction quite rapidly - just enough to keep the smile off your face :cry:

. To be fair, it was probably better suited to high BC than high accuracy, and that is why F-Open shooters did generally better under the MCSI system. Next year we're hoping for a more serious format for the Saturday shoot, maybe even a full-blown medium to long range OPM, which would be a fitting replacement for the discontinued Moe City OPM.

Well done Alan. Consistency pays off, and shows 53's aren't that bad at 1000 yards!

Looking at the number of shooters in F Class vs TR, there certainly is a big following for F Class in the Gippsland region.

Nice to see some more Moe blokes turn up on the Sunday. It was a good day Saturday and the computerised score board sure worked well.
I will try and be there for both days next year. :twisted:

No, it's just that I've got all this ammo that I have to use up. I hate to just throw it away :roll:

I've got approx 450 Sierra 2156's to use up and a few 175 lapua's, then I can retire the 308.

It's a VERY LONG DRIVE from Hamilton to Rosedale, you're forgiven.
