Sweet looking rifle Brad.

What was your thoughts on the AI chamber compared to say a standard 260 or even a 6.5-284 etc.

Norm. I like being different. You have to be different to shoot FO in WA

6.5x284- does the job no questions asked. Goes through barrels a bit but thats life. This should do around that performance albeit in the lower velocity node around 2900fps but burns 4-5gr less powder. Hopefully I see some saving in barrel life but not fussed either way.

260 rem. Good case, but heard reports they can be fussy to tune and the velocity with 140's is a bit lower and probably worth running a 130 in it just like the 6.5x47L. I wanted to run 140's exclusively so extra horsepower up the sleeve would be handy. Cases can grow fairly quick apparently.

Benefits of this round compared to the two- 30 degree shoulder. There is something about cases with 30 degree shoulders and accuracy (6br and 6.5x47L) So why not. Gives a bit more horsepower to the 260 case at the same time. Also the 308 small primer palma cases. Ive necked some down and test fired a fireforming load that shot well at 500m and formed cases fine too. Maybe there is something in these cases that could reduce vertical at long range in this case as they have shown to do in 308. Need more testing to see that.

All in all one must keep mind busy otherwise get bored quickly

Thanks Brad,
My next build will be a similar type AI set up but maybe a bit fatter projectile. :D
It will be interesting to see how the smaller primer goes in that size case as I was tossing up if they would be ok for my cartridge.
