what have you found works with re developing a load with a previously accurate barrel once it has been re chambered?
i have heard some guys just boost the load to get back in the same velocity node but after cutting off part of the barrel it would have to change the harmonics??

My experience is same load shoots well but you lose a few fps. It may well be able to be pushed higher. Worth running a couple of groups though.

Hi Adam
With my 300WSM barrel I had about 3 inches cut off and it went a bit faster.
Just re load your best accuracy load and try it and also load up some rounds .5 gn lower and higher.
Cheers

yeah ive got a couple of good barrels that are probably getting close to a re chamber and a couple of new ones in the cupboard and cant decide what to do.
might get the new ones up and running and then chop the old ones back.

I chop back pretty much all of my barrels and at least with a rechambered barrel, they always have the same powder/primer/bullet preferences. and it likes the same seating depth as when the barrel was new as long as you use the same reamer.
Powder loads are usualy very similar (usualy very close to when the barrel was in its prime, or a bit less than its boosted loads as it wore out)
