new bergers

taking into account the date yesterday, the new bergers look interesting.
for years bergers have been denigrating the barnes x bullet, now they have copied it.
this new bullet is proof of the fact that long range grease groove cast bullets as used in creedmoor are the way to go for reduced drag.
you could dip lube the bergers to keep the fouling soft as we do with bpcr.
just think of the fun experimenting with different lubes.
keep safe,
bruce.

Are you talking about the "Sonic Ripple" bullets that Berger has been testing?
It was "commercial in confidence" but I guess I can reveal I was selected to field test these some time back. They definitely shoot inside the existing 7mm and 30 cal Hybrid equivalents and I completed my testing yesterday at Para Range and have emailed the results onto to Bryan. Bryan Litz has revolutionised our sport.

Yea right. Actually earlier today I made a statement of not believing the 180 hybrid published BC.

Alan,
I thought you would have been on the list like Ian and me.
How do you think I shot so well at the recent Pennant, not dropping a point while everyone else did.
I was going to ask you if you had some, but then that would have broken the agreement.
Sorry.

I like the statement, Bergers new Bullet maybe on dealers shelves late fall...
But it not complete, it should read: Bergers new Bullet maybe on dealers shelves late fall, but already in team USA's hands...

Its now April 2.
I suppose it is relative to where you are posting from
It is still 10:45pm in the US, depending on where they are.
They do have a sense of humor though.

Way ahead of everyone. Instead of throwing away the 2000 VLD's I have in my cupboard, I got the grinder out and just finished running 3 lights grooves around all of the bearings surfaces. It took a while, but I got them all perfect after a good hand polish.
Berger, trying to make me buy more bullets......... suckers!

That's a bit rough Dennis. I just forced 1000 of mine through the cannulure tool for the same effect.

Just finished making one with a single 'ripple' using a an ogive length meplat pointer and a boat tail punch on the other end. Just got to work out how to make the other three ripples???
The 'dimple' bullet from last year took me ages, but I finally convinced a die maker to use a linear bearing inside the point forming die!
