Problems sizing 6.5x47

Gday
I am new to 6.5x47 and am having a real hard time sizing brass.
Basically the problem is I can not FL size brass!
The case will enter the die OK until about 2/3 of the way and thats when things really get tight!
I have worked cases back and forward and slowly eased them to the point where the press cams over and bumps.
Unfortunately when I try and remove the case it dose not work! The cases are jammed to a point where the shell holder rips off the rim of the case and I am left removing the remainder of the case using a 10t press.
I am using INOX to size. I know this is not a case sizing oil but I have used it for years with great success on other cases.
SO....
Any idea on the cause of this?
And more to the point any idea how to fix this problem?
I keep thinking a oval / oversize chamber ?
Rifle shoots well and cycles fine.
Thanks in advance
JH

john,
lanox would suit this application better than inox
hornady one shot is good if cases are not too tight.
failing that use imperial die wax.
a good home made product is lanolin mixed with caster oil proportions not particularly critical.
possibly your die is undersize, or your chamber is oversize.
keep safe,
bruce.

Sounds like its the first time you've used this die with this chamber? If so then it has to be a problem with one or the other. What brand of die is it?

Thanks Bruce
I will try lanox. I used to use One shot but I can never bloody buy it as its always sold out.
Oversize chamber is what scares me. If thats the case would it be worth reaming the die a little with a adjustable reamer? Or too much of a butcher job?

Yes your right!
Its a Forster FL die.
I have drill and reamed the neck out so it is only a body and bump die.
I had the same problem before these mods.
Problem is everything being tappered it is hard to get a comparison measurement.

john,
if you are sizing a lot, lanox will probably not be sufficient.
please let us know how it goes,
bruce.

Forster are not the Rolls Royce of dies, but I'd have to say the chamber would be my guess. Its most likely to be over size at head end - the other end of the case with thinner walls wouldn't cause a jam. Was it done with your own reamer?

I would be having a go with imperial sizing wax.
I have seen people use inox as a cutting compound very successfully....

Oh one other thing an oversize case can split a die

John, have you got taken any measurements off the fireformed cases for comparisons?

To remove suspicion from the die, how does it go with new brass? And if okay then try it with someone else's fired 6.5x47 brass if you can?

Great point !
Yes I sized the brass when new and it worked fine.
Here are some pics of the cases:
11.98mm
11.70mm
Would it be fair to assume the chamber has been cut oversize and should be sent back?

OK
I found 2 cases that have been FL sized (with the rim torn off) they measured at the head end 11.91mm
This says to me the case has grown 0.07mm (0.0027")
Can someone please measure one of there cases at the same point featured in the photo and let me know.
To me this sounds like very excessive growth.
Thanks
JH

3 thou is too much, so that's what I'd be doing.
