6 Dasher

Just bought myself a new dasher rougher and removable pilot finisher with headspace gauges.

It has a 0.268" neck which I believe I will have to turn the brass slightly-no issue there for me.

Forming cases, what is the best way, I take it I can probably turn the required length around 0.250 for the neck then leave the rest of the neck unturned to headspace off? Can also jam projectiles and seat the rim under the extractor for good measure. Will have a spare barrel for fireforming and varmint use

Anyone got any decent forming loads? Will be using 2208 and CCI450's and probably the cheap 105 amax or 70gr nosler BT. Once I get a match barrel I intend to feed it a healthy diet of Litz's finest.

I expanded necks to 6.5mm on a mandrel then sized a portion of the neck using your bushing of choice until they chamber (aka false shoulder). 31gns 2208 is what I used with the 105 Amax. I lost 1 case in 200 of lapua 6BR cases in the process and they shot very accurately on forming. Great chambering too. Mine is a no turn neck reamer tho.

campo,
the only trouble with your rifle is that it is not on its 3rd barrel.

True Bruce but I am on my first child (who is almost 5 now)....weekends are über packed so shooting is on the back burner for a while. You must miss my legs although you have prolly found another target!

The Dasher reamer i orderd had a .2704 neck, I am hoping i wont have to turn them. I have done some reading on the false shoulder but i will be trying the jam method first unless it doesnt work. .

Seddo I reckon you might be ok mate. I measured some sized 6BR cases today and they went 0.266 so guessing 0.267-68 loaded. Mine will need a quick skim by the looks but yours should be ok.

Looking forward to seeing this dasher take shape and seeing what's better, the 6x47 or dasher :)
