raton - raising the bar

since the raton teams were called for, fclass shooting has improved here in sa, particularly by those interested.
since the teams were announced shooting has improved seriously by those selected.
part of the reason is an extra level of commitment by these guys, and partly they are doing a lot more shooting, running in new barrels and working up loads. they are attending anything they can compete in and this is hardening them.
going by dave mc's recent performance, he is on the same trajectory.
raton has certainly lifted the standards, simply because if you want to win, you have to beat these guys.
we must all expect more of ourselves from now on.
keep safe,
bruce.

Bruce, I second that. It's great to see our representatives putting in the effort, I just hope that they now reap the rewards of all that hard work!

However, I have noticed over the past 12 to 18 months that the scores are on the march upward. With more shooters getting triple possibles at prize meetings.

Finally we are matching what the top TR shooters have been doing for MANY MANY years!

bart,
we have a way to go to read the weather like corbett & a few others, but our best are getting closer.
fclass has advanced in steps, and as each step plateaus we have wondered whether this is it, or will it advance further.
raton has created one of these steps, which has suggested higher potential in standards of fclass shooting.
this knowledge will filter down to all shooters, and can only bode well for the sport.
tr shooters with the knowledge of how teams work effectively are now able and willing to pass on these techniques. partly the reason why this can happen is that fclass shooters have reached the bottom levels of understanding which allow this knowledge to be transferred.
possibles are good, but possibly the measure of good shooting is how much scores have improved during a carve up.
keep safe,
bruce.
