Ozfclass.com member donations to FCWC Team

Hello forum members. The ozfclass.com website has been running since 2005. Those who were around at that time will remember that one of my main hopes for F-Class was that Australia would soon send another team to the World Championships (after the initial bid in 2002). Well, we didn't make it to South Africa in 2005 nor to Bisley in 2009, but this year we are finally going to do it =D>. On August 24th, 30 Australian F-Class shooters will begin competition in the F-Class World Championships at Raton, New Mexico. The leadup event is the US Nationals, comprising 4 days of 1000 yard shooting! The FCWC competition also runs over 4 days, with ranges from 800 to 1000 yards. The first two days are the individual competition followed by the teams. I have been selected as a shooter in our F-Class Open team, so will be there competing in all events. I intend to spend some time each evening reporting back to this forum to keep you up-to-date with our progress. I will be making a special effort to report every day, and to include photos and information which you will hopefully find interesting. This will not be easy with the long shooting days then reloading and other team commitments every night, but I see it as one of the main purposes of this forum to keep you informed about big events, and they don't come any bigger for F-Class than this!

Our management has asked team members to come up with ideas for fund-raising for the team. I'm wondering if some of you would like to support the team and would be prepared to chip in a few dollars? Just make a post on this thread and say how much you'd like to donate - no amount is too small. Each time someone donates I'll update the running total. Don't send any money yet - we'll sort out some simple payment options down the track. Just make a pledge and we'll catch up with you later. Your support will be appreciated.

To get things started I'll put in $100 from ozfclass.com.

    Running Total : $100

Thank you very much Alan for doing this and those who have already pledged/plan to pledge.

As another suggestion for those of you who wish to help - Perhaps clubs could put out a tin at the local range (or workplace) and ask for gold coin donations and post the end collections in this area.

Thank you again =D>

Dave, Cam, Julie,

It's good to know the Team has support from the wider F-Class community. And its not all about the money. Knowing that we have people following our competition from back home will hopefully lift our performance when it matters.

I should mention to anyone else thinking about donating, $50 is at the upper end of what I was expecting - don't feel obliged to match it. The money will be most welcome for a variety of team expenses, but we don't want to be greedy.

I'm happy to sponsor Froglube CLP kits for the team. Something they can travel with.
