Looking for some input on a new build I'm thinkin of doing a 7mm Shehane. Can I get away with a Barnard P action been (short) or do I need to go a long action??

Thanks Courtz

Single loading mate you can use a 284 in a short action. Only thing is unloading an unfired round you will have to pull the bolt out. Im going to do it on my pierce as Ive been running numbers since our chat on sunday and I cant afford a new LA. Will be sending off the order for a reamer shortly.

Barnard P ideal for .284W. Had one for 2 years no problems. Only consideration is that there is a wider choice of Dies (and lower cost) for the straight 284 when compared to the 284S.

The Barnard P will be fine, I run a 280 AI on a P, you can't remove a loaded round but a fired case no worries.
