all you ftr shooters, please be aware that sara will be hosting ftr at our queens again.
this combined with the fact that it will be held at lower light range should be a big drawcard on the October long weekend.
the excellent catering and facilities always make for an excellent time by all.
prior to the leadup, will be long range fclass, at 900, 1000, & 1100 mt.
many days of shooting, and the complete experience.

Hi Jenni. Maitland OPM is on Sunday the 20th of October with the 700 yard ( 2 + 15 shot) Lead up on Saturday the 19th of October if you are planning on staying down south for awhile.

well my entries are paid up.
in years gone by I erected a tent, but had to sleep in my swag some distance away due to the fact that women soon found out which tent I was in. the tent was actually a decoy, and I was down behind the mound in the bushes where they could not find me.
the sound of catfights outside the tent all night was not condusive to a good night's sleep I can tell you!
this year I will be hiding elsewhere, but shooting in the day, while they are locked in the compound.

Thanks for the advice, Bruce. When I next find myself in this predicament I will try the decoy strategy ...

+1 for Bruces comments.My tent was beside his at last years Queens ---I hardly slept at all.My tent nearly got flattened every night, it was a struggle to keep it up all night!!!
This year I have secured alternative accommodation --- too many dramas

Sorry folks but I have to formally pull out of attending. The general public can believe that it's work pressure of hosting 150 Colombian farmers looking at our Bonsmara cattle, just two days after the SARA Queens finishes, but the truth has more to do with my fear of Bruce's "compound".
He assures me that the frenzy will be forcibly restrained to a higher degree in 2014, so that is now my firm goal. The dates of the Colombians vist wasn't confirmed until just a couple of days ago
Good luck to all those attending the "House of pain" for the Queens. Hopefully a few can help Alan to share the load and keep us updated regularly.
It's not hard, and it doesn't even have to be the truth !

you nearly plucked up enough courage to attempt lower light. good on you.
I am sure that by next year the full courage quota will be there to attempt the house of pain.
we all know that it is a step up from other ranges to lower light.
I have seen them come and seen them go with their tails between their legs, kinda like a wild dog that got sprayed with rock schrapnel from a near miss, never to return.
I am sure that once you get a full grip on your courage, you will be made of sterner stuff, and keep returning to face the lower light challenge.

Im in for the Mozzies and the winds and this tail is always wagging for a great SA Queens competition

The SARA site doesn't have ammo/ranges details so I relied on the ever informative Braunds for finer details

Im guessing we will have 30 min of winds on the sights like my last visit, mud up to my calves & artic -40oc winds coming from the south all in the first 12 shots
Hopefully I can just use one target this year...in my last trip the winds were so strong I had to aim to tgt 2 to hit tgt one...ask CC.

Cant wait... love the range...and SOOOOOO good for a challenge & will do FMR off of my joy stick for Match Rifle and FTR to support the great work SARA, SA F Class & Savage do for our sport
