As per the following Facebook post from Jenni H, it is apparently living up to all of Bruces "descriptions".........and then some.
Jenni posted a video on her FB page that gives a pretty good indication of what it was like, so I will ask her to put it, or a link, on here.
This was first, thismorning :
Jenni H:
Massive winds...rattling targets 10000 flies......hmmmm let me guess? — at Lower Light Rifle Range.

Followed by......

Jenni H
Match Rifle...has just been abandoned. ....targets blew out of frames and speared into other frames...goooooone !!!

And a photo (obviously Photo Shopped by Bruce Moulds !!) of a pissy little pretend Wind Meter showing a paltry steady wind of 41.2 kph and gusts up to 57.2 kph.
Then a couple of hours ago....

Nancy Tompkins : The scoreboards aren't blowing away yet, so it can't be too bad! Lol!

Raelene Faulkner :wait till the targets start cartwheeling along the mount

Raelene Faulkner : mound even

Jenni H: Targets have torn and the metal is stretching in the frames...plus the score boards are held down well..
Yes Nancy ...great fun ...love it

Alison Marina : So a normal day at Lower Light then?
:P :P :P

tony,
thanks for the update.
we find it better to work in miles per hour of knots for windspeed at lower light.
I feel comfortable now going into the queens, knowing that conditions will be what I have trained in all year.
if it does change it will go to a light, floppy fishtail with so much mirage that you can barely see the target.
just another day at the office!
keep safe,
bruce.

Bruce - you have omitted to mention the mosquito scourge that this recent weather will bring. Big ones that don't mind the wind

simon,
this is not the monarto range where mozzies predominate.
lower light has strong switchy winds, and a few flies, but hardly noticeable, and is otherwise like being in heaven.

well the long range fclass was won by a bog std 284 win, and another 284 did well.
just goes to show, you can't keep a good cartridge down.

Bruce,

I have seen mozzies down there in the butts pulling targets before. Other than that I totally agree with you.

PS Do you miss my legs? :P

Why would you want electronic targets when you can get mozzies to do it for you.
Sorry Simon could'nt resist

simon,
your legs have just the right ammount of hair and the right ammount of knobbliness in the knees.
if you came to the queens it would give me a lot of relief from female attention, allowing me to focus on shooting.
what I really miss is the wicked crack of your 6 dasher as it sends another one towards the x ring.
it is not too late to enter the queens. just ring sara and give them your card no.
I would like to drink some of your coffee in the big hut.
keep safe,
bruce.

I miss it Bruce - my son is getting older (5.5yrs) and I seem to be getting time poorer. It would be good to come out for a shot sometime 308 or Dasher!!!

If I could have got out there, I would have happily been the woman lure. Alas they will continue to harass the weak like sirens on a rock.
