Hi John, can you be a bit more specific. Ie what model?
Cheers

Only clutching at straws here John. With the Remington XP100 you pull the bolt back to the extent of its travel then poke a slender object down the left side!!
This only becomes apparent when you take the barrelled action out of the stock so perhaps you might try taking the BSA out of the woodwork and take a look.
Good luck!

John, try pushing hard on the back of the trigger when opening the action, you may have to cycle the bolt a few times.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I can't see a model no. on it. It is set up as a FO rifle, 6.5/06, on an aluminium stock. The serial number on the bolt doesn't match the number on the action either, but it looks pretty smart.
I'll try Barry's suggestion and let you know the result.
Thanks
John

hi mate,
I have a bsa where you cock the rifle, pull the trigger and hold the trigger in while opening the bold and pulling it out

The bolt doesn't want to be removed
The bolt stop seems to be incorporated in the trigger. I'll take it to a gunsmith today.

This I what I trawled on the net. Can't find my De Haas book:
I have no direct experience with BSA rifles so I was curious and looked it up in my edition of "Bolt Action Rifles" by Frank de Haas.
According to Mr de Haas you remove the Bolt on a BSA Monarch by pulling the bolt about halfway to the rear and then pressing the trigger FORWARD very hard and while holding this pressure on the trigger you should be able to remove the bolt the rest of the way.

At Last!!!
Lift bolt handle half way, pull safety half way back, and bolt slides out.
Who would have thought?

Are you sure? Maybe only half the bolt came out...

Doesn't shoot too good. Looks alright though.
I can relate to that.
