That's Gold Danny very funny.I suppose the Fclass winner will be chaired in as well. Arrr sorry I mean they will be shouldering the Jason Recliner for the winner of the Queens..

News from Canberra RC is that in 2014 they will be chairing in the 3 winners...TR, F Std and F Open.
That has to be seen as a good step forward

Yes that is a huge step forward and in 2014 so soon.I mean there's lots to organise in such a short time Three chairs for example !!!
It's true that change comes slowly let's hope not to slowly.

In terms of recognition of F-Class yes, but it wouldn't worry me if that particular aspect of award ceremonies faded away with TR. Or at least I think it should be made a bit safer as our average membership ages - I've seen photos of how its done in the US - the winner sits a couple of feet lower to the ground. We are shooters, not gymnasts!

I'm surprised the chair ride still exists with all the health and safety laws these days, I for one would rather just walk.

A while back I asked someone about the chair ride and with grate pride he told me it was all about tradition and recognition of the shooter that has won and something to do about the Queen ( In the background l could almost hear hope and glory being played ) ...yes I get that ... But if tradition means we keep going what we have always done then we might be in a little trouble as we are hardly busting at the seems..Weather they carry the Fclass winners in or not its good to see the Recognition as for the Tradition??????

Maybe they should ride a gofer in, would cover all the ohas issues, just kidding. Maybe we need to set our own traditions, Like, laying a carpet of our shooting matts, to be walked over by the winner.

I think that you are onto something here Danny riding in a Golfer would probably be fun especially if she was a attractive Golfer yes that would work well....Arrrr my mistake Gofer ride in a Gofer well what happens at the Queens stays at the Queens.Cant wait to see the cover of the Target Mag a majestic T.R shooter sitting on his throne and one of us F class shooters astride our trusty Gofer .I still think we should get a Attractive one tho.

This topic sounds familiar:

I think it's worth starting a F-Class tradition, maybe not chairing though. Maybe the State Associations/NRAA could come up with something themselves for the Queens events without being dragged kicking and screaming?

I still think riding a Gofer may have some Merritt.Not as fun as riding a Golfer.....But you are right we need something of our own.

1. Great advancement. I must admit in Canberra (last year) they made me feel welcome and very much part of the presentation ceremony. Especially in the walk in etc. so getting a chair would be nice. I would not even mind carrying it.
2. I personally would proffer the golfer over the gofer;
a. No need for a saddle I will go bare back (if it is the golfer)(gofer I would like a saddle);
b. I think this like the old joke of 9 out 10 smokers that try Camels proffer women?
c. Please do not think this politically incorrect if gofers are the tradition let it be, I say:
d. I have looking for some motivation to try harder I think the golfer idea has it for me?
3. For all the F open shooters I pray Mark Fairbairn does not have his first win (and for the golfer too). (sorry Mark)
a. I have always said that when Mark wins his first Queens he will win the next 10, if you guys have to carry him in a chair. It will thin out the ranks pretty quickly.
b. Further and in the alternative it might motivate some F Open shooters more than the golfer (or gofer (yet to be determined as above))
4. Anyhow good on McIntosh’s and Canberra. Now all we need is for them to drop F Std B and have a proper FTR comp and things would be perfect.
