270 cal ?

Post by Tim N »

Hi All,
Has anyone had experience with the 270 for target shooting?
I noticed a 270-308 improved on a gunsmiths reamer list and just wondered.

Tim,

As a LR target calibre, 270s are very good (for hunting) .

Its all about suitable target projectiles. If there are any 270 cal high BC target projectiles around, then they are few and far between. Its just one of those calibres, a bit like 257 and 8mm, that have come to be ignored for LR target purposes. And its very close to 7mm (.277 vs .284).
