Ok guru's, I need some indication of elevation required..... Am shooting a 308 with 30" (1 in 12") tube and 155gn Noslers, with 46gn of 2208 in Lapua brass with Rem 9.5 primers.

If I zero at 100m how many Minutes do I need to wind on to get me in the ballpark at -

300m
400m
500m
600m
700m
800m
900m
1000m?

Without a velocity, that's going to be a challenge.
4 minutes between mounds should drop you on the target somewhere. Not sure on that bit between 100 and 300 though.

Bore site your rifle at 300, come up 3MOA and you will be on for 300, remember its an 8'x6' target frame, next to impossible o miss, you would likely be on even if you just used your 100yd elevation.

Then from there back just ask you club mates what they came up for each distance, or, with that setup your going to be roughly in the 2850fps I would say, use one of the online ballistic calculators to sort yourself out.

If you want to get real technical, you can play with the velocity figure in the calc until you get the right adjustment between you 100 and 300yd zero and you will know your muzzle velocity.

Just use Applied Ballistics program , it will give you all the info you want, as well as windage.

I would advise setting your zero at 300 not 100.

1000. 34.16 36.94

Ranges in meters as requested. With a 30 inch barrel you would probably be closer to 3000fps. I used isnipe ballistics calculator, a simple apple app.

That didn't space the way I intended but the first number after the meters is for 3000fps and the second number is for 2900fps

Let us know what elevation you do end up with when you do shoot past 300. Should be able to give you an estimated speed and predict the rest of the ranges.
