My Maddco 8T loved Sierras, 2206 + 2206H. I couldn't get the A-max to group as good, maybe the twist wasn't quite right for them.Used Lapua cases & success with ADI, Rem 7.5 are good primers. Remember, another excellent .223 shooter on this forum anneals the necks each time used & be precise with powder loads. Have fun.

Hi JC, have some 80 grain Noslers, you are welcome to try.

You shot well on Saturday with your factory barrel and light bullets, next you will be wanting a better scope, lol :D

Surely Uncle Mike has a spare one hiding in the cupboard.

Cheers
Danny

G'day JMC,
CCI450 primers, 2208, accurate loads usually around 25gns, start at 24.6 and work up in your rifle. I've seen Sierra's, Nosler's, Amax's and Berger 80.5's & VLD's work accurately in Maddco's.
Great little cartridge to learn with, enjoy!

The barrel should be chambered with a throat to suit the bullet in use, hopefully your gunsmith is familiar with target rifles and the heavier projectiles.
My advice is similar to Ned's,take it easy for a start.
Mike.

I've had good results with berger VLDs jammed 10thou with 25.4 gr 2208 and a fed primer, managed to shoot a 60.9 at 300 with it a couple of weeks ago
