Spoke to Erik Cortina regarding it a while back when I was looking at a 7mm option. He said it shot fast, and I think he mentioned it was built for the US F class guys for the FCWC. He said it went ok, but he has gone back to the 284 shehane for more consistent accuracy and easier to shoot.

I don't recall ever hearing it being made/designed for the F-Class team or FCWC. That would be new to me.

Not to long ago we did manufacture a ammunition pressure test barrel for it and shipped it for Gunwerks to one of the ammo manufacturers over here. So I do for see brass and ammo being commercially manufactured for it.

Later, Frank

Frank would be in the know a bit more. Possibly Erik just built one to shoot for a while.

Tim, when I first got my 7mm SAUM going, I found that my upper loads were running at 3100 fps with about 65gn's 2217. I soon backed that off as the primer pockets began to get a tad loose. I'm happily running at 2950 fps, and the brass has forgiven me. Almost 10 reloads out of the cases so far!

I'd suggest that maybe the 7mm WSM should give you the speed you want.

However, I'd add that you would be reducing the life of your barrels when running in that 3100+ region. But then life's short, so live fast
