Does anyone know of a 6.5x47AI reamer in Australia?

How steep did you want that shoulder?

Adam, Casey,
Its for a club mate who wants a little more speed with 136 Lapuas than he's currently getting from his 6.5x47, so extra capacity is the main reason. He wants to hire the reamer, having it sent to Phil Mastin. Adam's suggestion might actually be better if reducing 308 PALMA necks to 6.5mm works.

Alan, I think Redback gunsmithing in Qld may have one.

Yeah it does if you work down in a couple stages then neck turn.
If he is looking for a bit more capacity but with a small primer and is gonna need specific dies etc anyway then the 6.5SLR or 260AI using palma brass would be worth a thought. If he gets stuck he could still form standard primer cases from any brand for flexibility rather than being fairly tied to 6.5x47 cases that need fire forming to AI anyway.
I recon ziersch has a 6.5 SLR reamer and would do the whole job but I don't know anyone that would hire one out off the top of my head!

Thanks for the advice. Initially I'll give him the Redback option, but am also suggesting he not change something that ain't broke. Its no coincidence that the 6.5x47 has become so popular.

Maybe try find a 6mm-250AI reamer and have the neck reamed out to suit 6.5mm. Should be able to use 6.5x47L brass and should fireform well.

Alan I have seen the 139gr scenars go very well at very moderate velocity. Also mine is shooting 130 berger vld much better now that I have removed a bit of fouling from the throat area and dropped my load a tad. As you suggest it may not be broke...
Steve.

Just for a laugh I have run 30/06 cases into my 6.5x47 die....
It looked wicked

but I guess no different to a 6.5x284
