I use a Wilson .266 bush with unturned Lapua brass for a half thou neck tension. I estimate a .262 will give yo approx .004" to .005" neck tension. It'll still work fine but I prefer less neck tension.
I have a redding .266 bush which actually sizes to .264. Watch those Redding bushes.

You didn't mention whether the gun was chambered for a tight neck or not. I run both a Dasher and a 6BR, both with no turn necks, and use a .267 bush for both of those with very good results.

yes - with a 0.262" bush it certainly sounds as though you have a tight chamber. no turn bushings are normally 0.266" to 0.268".
Please post the chamber neck dimensions and diameter of the neck on a loaded round before proceeding further. It is important you get this correct and may have to turn the necks on your brass before going any further.

Guys, if I have PTG 6mm BR Lapua fin reamer w/ .272 neck, using blue box Lapua 6 BR Norma brass w/ no turn (or w/ very light turn) and Redding-S FL busing die, am I correct to buy .269 bushing + 2nd .267?
I can't find .268 bushing, btw.
What is your average neck OD w/ bullet seated using Lapua brass (blue box) no turn... say with Berger 105gr match hybrid?
(Will build a plain 6 BR, soon when I have the time... still collecting the components at this moment).
Another question is, when you use Berger match hybrid, would the regular seater stem of Wilson inline die (i.e. the nose/cone) work just fine / doesn't "crash" the bullet tip when seating?...and how with VLDs?
Thanks,
seb.

jmc - best if you can track down previous owner and ask for chamber dimensions.
If no luck there - grab a micrometer and measure the neck diameter of a fired round (before sizing) but be aware there will be some springback so the chamber could be 0.000 to 0.002 inches (or more) larger than this. It will however give you an idea.
also size one case with the neck bushing you have and seat one projectile then measure the loaded round neck diameter. come back to us with these dimensions so we can give you a starting idea.

My chamber is cut for no turn neck "blue box" Lapua brass and has a .274 neck. My loaded rounds measure at .266-.267. I tried bushings from .265 to .268, but I found very consistent seating and good feel using the .267 bushing and then using a Sinclair expander mandrel. This takes out any variances in the neck thickness.

Jmc, I think that means you have a standard chamber or close to it. With that bushing you are running 8 thou tension which I believe is on the tight side. Should work fine, however you could try a lighter tension by going 0.266" or 0.268" for 4 or 2 thou tension respectively. A lighter tension be benificial however if it's shooting well then don't change it. Someone might want to double check but I think I got the numbers right.

Well that sounds like enough of an excuse to try a larger bush. Good luck with it.

No chance that the seating die hasn't enough clearance for the Hornady tips, is there?
