My 1000yd Heavy gun is finally up and going. It is a 300WSM, with a 1.450" diameter barrel. The stock (from Jackos heavy gun) is around 9" wide in the fore end and all up weighs around 30kgs. It is shooting 210gn VLDs at around 2840 fps and with the weight of the gun feel light shooting a 6 PPC.

(P.S, if any range officers are reading this and see it at a Queens, it is actually shooting 155gn HBCs at 2840 fps and with its balsa wood stock and 3D graphics making the stock look wider, weighs 9.9kgs)

Wow! Excuse my ignorance Rod but what the go with the scope at 90 degrees?

When I fire it gangsta style (held sideways) , the hold off reticle still work.

if anyone wants a converted scope, I can arrange for them to be converted for a reasonable price.

Its also the only way I know of adjusting windage for an up draft and down draft. Then when you need to change elevation, simply rotate the scope 90 degrees again, adjust elevation then rotate the scope 90 degrees again for up/down draft, whalla!!

The only trouble is having the scope picture sideways makes me want to twist my head too much................ so I won't do it.

I am using 61gns of 2209. I have only fired 48 rounds through it so, not a massive amount of testing but it had some very good groups. Today I tested seating depths, with 5 shots at each depth, moving the group around inside the 6 ring so I could compare the groups. None went outside the 700yd 6 ring and none went any more than 1/2 X ring elevation.
Once the cases are fire formed and barrel run in, I will try to take pictures of some good ET shots when conditions are better than we had today.

Credit Anthony Bending for making the stock and Matt Paroz for putting this kit together.

I do have a spare barrel block needing a barrel to fill its empty 1.5" hole, so if the ultra long range shoot in Western NSW becomes a regular event, I could see a 338 Edge or 375 barrel of some sort in the future.

Very strong glue !!!!
This makes stress free contact with the barrel, the "block is then bolted to a Vee block.

Okay, I see the logic. Actually I don't think the glue would have to be exceptional. I've found with my opposing V type clamp that the 10 bolts don't need much torque to stop any creeping - just a gentle nip with a T handle.

I notice Rod has it sitting on the mound. Is he trying to tell us he might sneak it into an F-Class field?

I am kind of hoping the glue is very strong. Matt did give an evil chuckle when I suggested if the glue wasn't strong enough, my face would make a poor recoil lug.
