F Open at Gemfields OPM.

The Gemfields Rifle Club will be running F Open at our OPM this year in August the 22nd and 23rd. So tell all of your F Open mates and come and test your skills at the at our challenging range. See the flyer on the QRA website or in the July/August edition of the Target Magazine.

Is the Gemfields range suitable to traverse in a Toyota Corolla sized vehicle ?

Any chance of F/TR?
Most likely driving home to Cairns after QRA Queens and Teams around then?
Probably need a mobile ammo processing plant though?!

Josh: As peter said there is good access to the range. Bitumen road right up to the front gate. You can camp on the range, which many do, or you can check out the local accommodation by typing "Gemfields Accommodation" in your search engine.
It will be good to see you there. It is a challenging range. Catering will be available.
Shane: This is a first time for running F Open at our prize meeting. We will see how this goes and I will test the waters for FTR next year.

I understand how it with small clubs and the organisation required!
Can't see how I would have had ammo anyway!
Halfway through loading what we need for Brissie and I started 2 days after we got back from Townsville!
All the best with the OPM - BTW what distances being competed?

Shane, thanks for the well wishes. We will be shooting 600/700/800 yards on the Saturday, 900 and 1000 yards on the Sunday. We hand out gemstones for prizes so it is worthwhile competing. Paid markers. Catering available. Camping on the range. Toilets and hot showers available.
A number of shooters compete in the QRA Queens then travel to the Gemfields for our OPM the next weekend. Then of to Barcaldine for there OPM the weekend after. Goondiwindi is the next weekend, so there is a circuit there for people that wish to follow it.
See you in Brisbane for the Nationals.

I always like to shoot the longs whenever possible!
Great to see another 1000 yard range operating!
Yeh, still loading for Nationals and August all together.
Plan to drive down and leave a vehicle there until Teams and QRA.
Don't think I will ever commit to 3 Queens in 8 weeks again!?
