Its been a long time coming but theres light at the end of the tunnel. I should be back shooting in a few weeks when I return from overseas. A couple of pics to show off while it was being put together, will do final pics when Im back from vacation. To say Im keen to feel some recoil is a massive understatement.

Brad that's looking AWSOME!...... and solid as. So jealous of the mill. I love making stocks, but hate trying to do a job with the wrong tools.

None of the machinery is mine, all done at mates place or at the LGS.

Its pillars and screw in with glass bedding. The timber is a structural hardwood laminate. No good for natural finishes but fine for paint. I did most of the shaping free hand with the grinder and did the inletting and straight edges on the mill.

I dont know finished weight yet, will know more when I get back and bolt it all together, scope and all. Its bloody heavy thats for sure, I wanted it that way and beefy around the action, and low profile and long wheelbase.

Dodgy phone pics of the finished rifle. Shooting this sunday hopefully if the gunsmith brings it down to the range. I have 4 days to decide whether to gamble and enter the WA queens and hope its accurate and that the permit arrives by the end of the month, or not risk it and play it safe. Theres a bit of paint work to re do on the stock that chipped when breaking the action out of the bedding and I still have no idea of overall weight. The 28" barrel that has the flush muzzle weight on the end looks really short in the long wheelbase stock! Hopefully it tracks well with that setup.

Im hoping it will be able to be used at the queens but its all going to depend on the WA licensing system. Im hopeful but the monday before the queens is going to be the cut off point so I can get ammo loaded in time.

Will see how I go mate, its going to be rushed. I have two sessions at the range to do it before the queens and its going to be manic. Im a bit worried though, my application is due to be approved a day or two before the queens and my tip is Aus Post wont get a letter from perth to 2.5hrs south to Busselton in a couple of days. Ive just spent a few hours in the shed prepping new 6BR cases for the event.

After a 7 week delay getting the permit (dont ask) the rifle is home in the safe.

I set her up quickly in the back yard to get a feel for it, and have done inital load development. First range session will be this weekend.

What is its "footprint" measurement ? Ie how far from the butt to the very front of the forend ?
