How to store a barrel

I have had great success with my current 308 barrel
That happy that I ordered another one exactly the same and hope for the same result at the target end.

What I am going to do now is store that great trueflite barrel and only use on special occasions.

Is there a best way to long term store a barrel?

Pete

Peter, I like warming the barrel a little to open the pores I the metal and use G96 on the outside liberally and hoppes 9 on the inside of the bore. It seems to gum up a bit after a few days and it does t rust up a barrel at all. Great for really loosening carbon while its at it.

It's a spray can with yellow and black on the can. Smells like a kiddies bubblegum icecream.
