Hi All,
Just thought I'd share this one, I found it a bit of a pain to clean barrels not in the rifle so:

Paul, I think you are being kind with that comment....

I can only think of one nice thing to say: the welds look to be fairly neat :D

It certainly does look like one of Alan's prototypes

I am impressed Tim, and will incorporate some of your design features in my next stock. Don't take any notice of the knockers - they just don't appreciate our mastery. We are ahead of our time :D .

Back to the original theme of the thread :D :D this is exactly what I need, and only an addicted switch barrel user (one of us) could possibly appreciate how wonderful this is !!!
If I give you my BAT Model M thread pitch, will you make me one ?? Pal.....mate......buddy.....cobber ??
Ignore these "one gun, one barrel forever" heathens, Tim . I want to make you famous.

Hey Tony
Dose fortune come with fame?
No threading needed, it's a fairly simple set up with an overcentre clamp making it a quick change.
After making this one I'm going to make a compact version to take to shoots, and post to customers :D
I'll try to make one next week

Haha, I asked about something similar some time ago and got shot down in flames. Just put your barrel in a rest and clean it, no more needed, nothing to drop in the trigger etc. Keith Hills, your advice please.

Cheers
Danny

G'day All,
a simple screw on delrin bore guide and clamp the barrel into a soft jawed vice.
Could be mounted onto a bullbar or tow bar hitch point. Probably only needs to be about 6" long.
Alternatively, something like a carpenters bench hook that allows you to screw onto your barrel and then hook over your ute tailgate so it doesn't slide forward when pushing the rod through. You'd have to hold the bench hook when pulling the rod backwards. Which may be awkward for some...
Should be a simple machining jobby.
Cheerio Ned

Tim,

Did you ever end up making a small version? Im eanting to clean barrels when not in my action and wondering if you have made any refinements to your barrel cleaning cradle?

Looks good, but I am not a switch barrel devotee!! But it is important to keep your cleaning rod in line with the bore & this does that well =D> .
