Not sure if anyone has posted the about the release of the Lyman Borecam and Monitor - fits 20cal, 22" long.

Looks like they've finally hit the shelves in the US, original release date was June 2015.

Been considering a Hawkeye, but for the money and my level of expertise (especially with a digital camera vs 35mm film) this might be closer to the money?

My LGS has some on order and I will be getting one as well- pending reviews from USA. Only need to tell when a barrel is dirty and clean.

Yea, those pesky cameras might be used to capture an image or something !
I gave up with optics planet because of they're use of this line. It doesn't seem to bother anyone else.

The SD card looks handy. Will make it easy for people to show images on the forum and discuss.

I looked at one of these and after finding out the weight of them realised postage would be quite expensive and added to the $AU ruled it out. Qld. Rifle Assoc. has a bore scopes in their stock very similar to the Hawkeye and at a fraction of the cost. Mine cost $675-00 posted and is as good as the Hawkeye.

Can you get these with a 90 degree eye piece??

I do not know. I have no problems using them straight. Check with Q.R.A.Stores.

After using a hawkeye commercially for a while (and privately for some time) - I wish I had purchased the camera attachments. The ability to record information to a video/sd/computer would be invaluable. We have one of the first of these to come in on backorder and as soon as it arrives will give it a good working over and review. For those that just want to check cleanliness, firecracking, lands etc for themselves this is probably not an issue. BUT-----

We have seen many, many destroyed barrels and chambers here. From chemical pitting, corrosion pitting, screwdriver marks, even drill bit marks (yes that is true and not a once off), bulged barrels etc etc. More importantly for the F class community we have now seen 4 barrels like Tony's barrel destroyed by abrasive paste on bronze brushes. Also terrible chambering or crown marks on factory rifles that need to go back for warranty, or get repaired here if the importer agrees (best to have some evidence first!)
Our job would be much easier with a "record" option and I feel everybody using a borescope would at some time or other feel the same way.I have tried with a camera behind the ocular but not very successfully. - Hopefully the quality of image on these is good enough to do the job.????
